2007 NFL Mock Draft UPDATE!

Here is an update of the 2007 Mock Draft including the Vikings signing of Mike Doss. The mock will be continually updated until the draft.

1. Oakland Raiders- QB JaMarcus Russell (LSU) 6-5 260
This big armed QB is a perfect fit for the down field passing offence favored by Al Davis. The Raiders have a lot of holes but after passing on two potential franchise QB’s last year I can’t see them doing it again this year. Another possible choice here is Calvin Johnson, although in order for that to be the pick they would have to move Randy Moss or Joey Porter or both.

2. Detroit Lions- WR Calvin Johnson (Georgia Tech) 6-4 235
Now before you go crazy and think the Lions are going to take another WR hear me out. I don’t think the Lions are going to stay at this pick but I do think Calvin Johnson will be picked here. I think either the Bucs or the Falcons, (who have the ammunition and have put their faith in Michael Vick) will move up to get him. If the Lions keep the pick they will probably go with Joe Thomas.

3. Cleveland Browns- QB Brady Quinn (Notre Dame) 6-4 230
After his stock took a huge hit early in the off-season, he has volted back up to the top 5 with a very impressive pro-day. The Browns could really use a franchise QB and Quinn would have some great weapons in Braylon Edwards and Kellen “Im a fucking soldier” Winslow II. Judging by the Browns recent history Quinn will get hurt in an unfortunate motorcycle accident and miss a lot of the season. Adrian Peterson would also be a good choice here.

4. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- DE Gaines Adams (Clemson) 6-5 265
With an aging Simeon Rice the Bucs go for the best pass rusher in the draft. I think Adams would go here even if the Lions moved down to this spot and the Bucs move up to number 2.

5. Arizona Cardinals- OT Joe Thomas (Wisconsin) 6-8 315
Joe Thomas is who the Cardinals think he is and that is the best offensive line prospect in the draft and if he falls down to #5 the Cardinals will jump all over him. He could very well go earlier, as high as #2 but the way that things are shaking out there is a good chance he’ll fall down to here. Alan Branch and Amobi Okoye are possibilities here as well.

6. Washington Redskins- DT Amobi Okoye (Louisville) 6-1 300
The Redskins were historically bad at rushing the passer last year setting a record for the least sacks in NFL history. Defensive line is the obvious choice here and Okoye is a stud DT who can collapse the pocket and stay strong against the run. The obvious choice is hardly ever what the Redskins go for and there have been rumors surrounding this pick for months. At times I wish I was the Redskins GM so I could trade down with this pick and make up for all the pick we traded away such as the wonderful Duckett trade. However the Redskins have other plans such as trading down and acquiring Lance Briggs a linebacker who while talented, really is not a need on this team. This trade appears dead for now but that all might change before draft day. With this deal on hold for now you are sure to hear many more rumors surrounding this pick. There are also rumors that the Redskins are looking to trade up into the #2 pick to acquire Calvin Johnson, while I love Johnson I hope this rumor is false. Other possibilities if the Redskins keep this pick are Jamaal Anderson and Laron Landry.

7. Minnesota Vikings- DE Jamaal Anderson (Arkansas) 6-6 280
This is a tough one as the Vikings are in need of a pass rush but have spent a first round pick on Udeze. I originally had them taking Laron Landry but with the signing of Mike Doss that seems unlikely. I took another look at Udeze’s stats and the Viking could easily consider him a bust and cut their losses. Jamal Anderson is a complete DE who can play well against both the run and the pass. He is a good pick here.

8. Atlanta Falcons- S Laron Landry (LSU) 6-2 205
The Falcons may get lucky and have the best safety in the draft fall into their laps. Adding Landry to a secondary that includes Deangelo Hall and Jimmy Williams would make them scary good. Look for the Redskins to blow a lot of smoke about taking Landry to force the Falcons to trade up and get him.

9. Miami Dolphins- DT Alan Branch (Michigan) 6-6 330
Alan Branch might not fall this far but his stock is slipping after many scouts report him to be out of shape. He has a massive frame and remarkable quickness for a guy this big. I think he will be a star in this league wherever he goes. The Dolphins could go a number of directions with this pick and I also see them going Leon Hall.

10. Houston Texans- RB Adrian Peterson (Oklahoma) 6-2 220
The Texans passed on rookie sensation Reggie Bush and Rookie of the Year and hometown favorite Vince Young last year and I don’t think they will make the same mistake. They do have Ahman Green but he can’t be relied upon for a full healthy year. Other possibilities are OT Levi Brown and CB Leon Hall.

11. San Francisco 49ers- MLB Patrick Willis (Old Miss) 6-2 240
The 49ers have addressed a lot of their needs in free agency but they still could use some help on the defense. I originally had them taking a defensive lineman here but with the changes to the mock Patrick Willis has fallen to them. This talented LB could play really well as an ILB in a 3-4 scheme. He ran a blazing 4.37 40 yard dash and would be a great addition to the 49ers.

12. Buffalo Bills- RB Marshawn Lynch (Cal) 5-10 223
The Bills in my opinion did not have a good off-season. They lost a good corner, linebacker, and running back. Then they went and overpaid for a mediocre player like Derrick Dockery. If Patrick Willis falls to this position they will probably go with him but as it stands now Lynch could be their pick. Some mocks have him falling out of the first round but I think he would be a good pick to take over for the departed Willis McNoknee.

13. St. Louis Rams- CB Leon Hall (Michigan) 5-11 195
Most mocks have the Rams taking Alan Branch here and if he falls to #13 then that might be there pick. However with him gone the Rams go after the best CB in the draft. Hall has put on some good numbers at the combine and Michigan pro-day which has his stock rising after it took a big hit from an awful bowl game against Dewayne Jarrett and USC.

14. Carolina Panthers- TE Greg Olson (The U) 6-5 255
Many might consider this talented tight end from the U a bit of a reach here. I think it is very possible and fills a big need for the Panthers. Olson’s has great speed for a tightend and good hands. He will take pressure off Steve Smith and open up the middle of the field to the Panther’s offence.

15. Pittsburg Steelers- Adam Carriker (Nebraska) 6-5 290
Carriker is a versatile defender who can play inside or end in a 4-3 or end in a 3-4 so whichever defense the Steelers chose he would be a good fit. The Steelers could also take a CB with this pick or a linebacker like Lawrence Timmons if Carriker is off the board.

16. Green Bay Packers- Robert Meachem (Tennessee) 6-3 210
The Packer’s seem hot on Greg Olson and if he makes it past the Panthers he will be the pick here (unless Peterson falls this far). Meachem has great size and speed and has had a strong offseason. The Packer’s are yet to make the trade for Randy Moss so they acquire a big target in Meachem for Brett Farve to throw to. They will address their running back needs in the later rounds.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars- S Reggie Nelson (Florida) 6-1 193
Nelson could provide a big boost to the Jaguars secondary and is one of the most versatile players in the draft. He has the athleticism to play both corner and safety.

18. Cincinnati Bangles- LB Lawrence Timmons (Florida St.) 6-3 230
The Cincinnati Bangles like to draft young linebackers who end up suspended by the league for various reasons so they need to draft another one who can hopefully stay out of jail for a few seasons. This is a tall task for any Bangles player but Timmons does have talent and would be a good pickup here.

19. Tennessee Titans- CB Darrelle Revis (Pittsburg) 5-10 190
The Titans go with CB here as insurance in case Rain Man Jones is suspended by the league or thrown in jail. Revis is a talented corner who can also fulfill the Rain man’s role as punt returner. Ginn Jr. is a possibility here with the ability to return punts and be a great weapon for Vince Young.

20. NY Giants- LB Paul Poslusny (Penn State) 6-3 238
I was going to have the Cowboys take this slow linebacker with this pick but then I remembered that Parcells is no longer there. All jokes aside I think this is a good pick for the Giants. Poslusny is an old school linebacker whose stock has dropped in recent months. He was as productive as they come at linebacker U and should be a pretty solid to good pro.

21. Denver Broncos- DE Jarvis Moss- (Florida) 6-5 255
The top priority for Denver in the draft will be to upgrade their pass rush. They have shown interest in possibly trading up into the top 10 to acquire one of the top DE’s. If they stay at 21 and Moss is still available they will jump all over this talented pass rusher. He needs to add a bit of bulk but that seems possible since he is 6-5. Ted Ginn Jr. is another possibility here as well.

22. Dallas Cowboys- CB Chris Houston (Arkansas) 5-11 185
As much as I hate to say it the Cowboys did a nice job of filling their offensive line needs (Leonard Davis) and their need at safety (Ken Hamlin). I look for the Cowboys to upgrade their secondary and Houston has a good name for someone who will play in Texas. Houston played real well against top WR’s this year, slowing down Jarrett, Bowe, and Meachem. We’ll see how he does against Santana Moss and possibly Calvin Johnson if the ‘Skins do something stupid.

23. Kansas City Chiefs- WR Dewayne Jarrett (USC) 6-5 210
He might be a bit slow (4.6 40) but you can’t argue with Jarrett’s production at USC. The Chiefs could also go offensive line or CB with this pick.

24. New England Patriots- S Brandon Meriweather (The U) 5-11 195
With the first of their two first round picks the Patriots take the talented safety from the U. He will provide a much needed boost to their secondary. Michael Griffin is an option here but I think Meriweather is higher on the Pats board.

25. NY Jets- CB Aaron Ross (Texas) 6-1 192
The Jets were one of the biggest surprises of the 2006 season and to spite a good year they have a lot of holes, especially in the secondary. The physical Ross would be a great fit and probably start from day 1 in the Jets secondary.

26. Philadelphia Eagles- S Michael Griffin (Texas) 6-0 205
The Eagles could use a playmaker to pair with Pro-Bowl safety Brian Dawkins. Griffin is a good safety who can fill the space left by the departure of Michael Lewis. LB would have been an option here but the Eagles filled that need by acquiring Takeo Spikes in a trade. WR could be an option here as well.

27. New Orleans Saints- CB Marcus McCauley (Fresno St.) 6-1 205
The Saints had an incredible year last season but badly need to replace Fred Thomas. Watching him try to cover was just sad at times. McCauley is an incredibly physically gifted corner but he regressed his senior year. With some work he could become a good corner in this league. Hey Lincoln would be an upgrade over “TOAST of New Orleans”, he could fall over and not cover just as well. Hey maybe he could get a few pass deflections.

28. New England Patriots- DE/LB Lamarr Woodley (Michigan) 6-2 270
Woodley is a great fit for the Patriots 3-4 system and will help the Pats upgrade an aging LB corps. Considered by some to be too small to play football, Woodley has shown the ability to get to the QB and should be an impact rookie.

29. Baltimore Ravens- OT Joe Staley (Central Michigan) 6-5 302
The Ravens really need to acquire an OT in the draft after losing Tony Pashos in free agency and with an aging Jonathan Ogden on the other side. Staley has shot up many draft boards with amazing workout numbers. The Ravens could also go with OT/OG Justin Blalock here as he would fit very nicely with their physical style of offensive play.

30. San Diego Chargers- WR Tedd Ginn Jr. (Ohio St.) 6-0 180
The Chargers could use some help at WR and Ginn Jr. is an explosive player who could also help in special teams. There are several other receivers the Chargers could go with here. Ginn Jr. has not yet worked out due to an injury he suffered in the national championship game. He will work out later in April and if he has a good day he could shoot up the draft boards of many teams.

31. Chicago Bears- OG/OT Justin Blalock (Texas) 6-4 340
Blalock is a versatile lineman whose physical style could help the Bears running game. If the Lance Briggs trade goes down look for the Bears to draft Amobi Okoye since one of there DT’s is coming back from an injury and the other is in jail.

32. Indianapolis Colts- DT Tank Tyler (NC State) 6-2 305
Despite winning a super bowl the Colts still don’t have a very good defense. The D played well in the post season but it doesn’t diminish the fact that they could use some help on the D-line. Tank Tyler is freakishly strong and would be a good fit for the Colts.

Rangers In Depth: Part 1

Lincoln here to take a close look at the roster of the 2007 Texas Rangers. Our Mock Draft will be updated soon.

Position Players

Kenny Lofton CF - The forty year old center fielder should hit lead off for 100-120 games this year. Lofton filled the hole in center and at the top of the line up that GMJ's departure created. Signed for one year and six mil, Lofton should provide good batting average, decent eye at the plate, some speed at the top of the order, and slightly below average defense in center. The former 17th round pick of the Astros out of the University of Arizona is now in his 17th big league season, Lofton is now playing for his 11th team. A six time all star and four time gold glove winner, Lofton has maintained his skill set surprisingly well in the later stages of his career. Expect a .290 batting average and .350 on base percentage.

Frank Catalanotto LF/DH - Catalanotto is now in his second stint with the Rangers. On Novermber 2, 1999 Cat, along with Gabe Kapler, Justin Thompson, Coco Cordero, Alan Webb, and Bill Haselman were sent to the Rangers from the Tigers for Juan Gonzalez, Danny Patterson, and Gregg Zaun. Cat is now the only person from that trade to be on the team he was traded to and though not the focal point of the deal has carved out a very nice niche for himself in the bigs. Left handed hitting Catalanotto has excellent bat control and a great eye at the plate. After two years of nearly identical production in Toronto, Frank signed a 3 year/$13.5 mil deal with a club option for 2010. After coming up as an infielder, Cat's much maligned defense forced him into some what of a utility role throughout most of his career. However while with the Blue Jays, Cat played almost exclusively left field and using Clay Davenport's defensive metrics, Il gatto piccolo has been an above average defensive outfielder for the last two years. Expect .300/.365/.450

Michael Young SS - The franchise. If he played in New York he'd be Jeter. A guy who has never had anything handed to him, worked for everything he's ever got. Blocked in the Blue Jays organization by Cesar Izturis, Young was traded to the Rangers for Esteban Loaiza in the summer of 2000 (the best trade the Rangers have ever made.) He played a good second base, but couldn't hit enough. So then he hit. Only after Randy Velarde got hurt giving Young an opportunity. After A-Rod jumps ship, Young volunteers to move positions. He can hit, but struggles in the field. So then he became a gold glove caliber SS. You all already know this, expect everything from Michael Young...this guy will never disappoint you.

Mark Teixeira 1B - The 5th overall pick in the great 2001 draft, Big Tex is a big time player -- think a young Eddie Murray. Tex had a very interesting season in 06, his first half wasn't near as bad as people made it out to be -- he was just lacking home runs. For what ever reason his homers turned into doubles in the first half but started going over the wall again post all star break. Tex improved on his .275/.353/.445 first half to go .291/.394/.608 down the stretch. The second half Tex should be seen all year long in Arlington. At age 27 Tex is right around the age where most players peak, however Tex is going to be a dominate player for a long time -- though probably not all in a Ranger uniform. Expect .295/.400/.575 with gold glove defense and a lot of MVP votes when the season ends.

Hank Blalock 3B - The success of the Rangers' season rests on his shoulders more so than any other individual player. If Ron Washington will end the Sosa experiment soon and move Hank up to the 5 spot in the order AND Hank can continue his new fangled approach of not trying to hit the ball 600 feet with every swing, the offense can be formidable. Hank "the Hawk" Blalock will improve this year on his 06 season (because you can't go down anymore than that), the question is by how much? Hawk has looked good in the first couple games of the season, going the other way and hitting everything hard. Southpaws will more than likely always be a problem for Hank, despite hitting 282/.344/.436 vs lefties in 2004, his career line is .221/.273/.344. If the countless news stories over the spring of the new Blalock -- part of the reason for the new nickname "Hammerin' Hank" tried to hit homers every time...the Hawk aggressive but also smooth and graceful -- have any validity Ranger fans can expect a season from Blalock that will rival his 2003-04 ones. I'll split the difference and say .270/.345/.455.

Brad Wilkerson LF - Very similar to Blalock in the respect that this left handed hitter suffered through shoulder injuries and ineffectiveness during a forgettable 06 campaign. I still think Wilky has good years in him if his body will allow, and word from camp this spring was that he was close to 100%. Wilk will always have the stigma of being compared to Alfonso Soriano which isn't fair to him -- he didn't trade himself. When healthy Wilk is one of the best players in the game, with a great batting eye, good pop and the ability to play defensively all over the diamond. He won't hit .300 and he will strike out often, however he can still be an important part of a winning club. A good season from him is much more likely than one from Sosa. Hopefully some of the good vibes from Gainsville will reach this former Gator All-American. Expect .250/.360/.500.

Ian Kinsler 2B - Simply one of the two or three best young second basemen in baseball. As any good Newberg Report reader knows, Kinsler has always been able to rake including hitting .401/.465/.687 in single A Clinton in 2004. Good pop, good eye and he should develop into a good defender. Expect .280/.350/.475

Nelson Cruz RF/CF - The 6'3'' 225 lb outfielder may have the most natural ability of any Ranger, combining power and speed. The question for Cruz and Ranger fans is how much will those abilities translate themselves on the big league diamond. Coming over from Milwaukee in the Carlos Lee trade, Cruz has a good chance to replace Kevin Mench production wise. His high strikeout rate will keep down his production to some extent, but a decent eye and top notch power potential make him a nice low-risk investment for the Rangers. His athletic ability mean he can spell Kenny Lofton in center once a week. Expect .255/.320/.470

Gerald Laird C - Underneath his dopey exterior rests a good young catcher. Laird should be entering his 4th season as the Rangers starter. Laird is a very good defensive catcher with an expectational rate of throwing out would be base stealers. He's not going to make anyone forget Pudge, but he's a solid starting major league catcher. Expect .270/.335/.445

Sammy Sosa RF/DH - Going into spring training I didn't mind the Sosa signing. Essentially no risk and I knew the Rangers would be smart enough not to put him on the opening day roster, if he has a good spring maybe you can trade him to some other team and pick up a small useful piece. Sammy had a great spring, but instead of moving him the Rangers put him in the Opening Day lineup. In the 5 hole!!! How is Tex supposed to get anything to hit when there's a guy behind him who hasn't been good in 4 years? I think Minnie Minoso is still available. Much rather see Botts. Expect .210/.280/.380 in 300+ too many at bats.

Mata Kata Util - Call him Kata, Kitty Kata [meow.] .250/.300/.400

Jerry Hairston Util - Like Kata JHJ is a versatile defender. He may spend more time in the outfield than the infield. He'll pinch run, but not give much with the bat. Unless he gets those roids he ordered. Expect .240/.310/.350

Chris Stewart C - Solid backup catcher. Showed some pop in the minor leagues and is widely regarded as having one of the top five arms on a catcher in baseball. The former White Sox catcher is tall for the position, 6'4'', but at only 25 years old still has some upside. Expect .245/.300/.405

Tomorrow I'll tackle the pitchers...

A Very Sportsy Weekend

Hey readers,

Lincoln here to ramble on about some of the recent goings on in the world o' sport. If you're here for our Mock Draft be sure to come back soon for revisions and player reports.

Starting in the Association

  • I'm sure this will be the expanded upon in an upcoming article, but watching the Mavs/Suns game this weekend was the first time all season I thought the Mavs might not win the Championship. This is NOT because I suddenly think that the Suns are a better a team, exposed the Mavs Achilles Heel, or anything of that sort. I got that feeling because no one wants the Mavs to win. David Stern obviously views Mark Cuban with rancor, and he controls the outcome of NBA games. This may seem incendiary, but if you get beyond a visceral shock to the statement, but the evidence is all around us. David Stern succeeded Larry O'Brien as commish in 1984, MJ's rookie year. Jordan's tongue-out-foul-line-dunks, long shorts, and Nike cross over appeal became the crux of Stern's marketing ideas for the league. Individual players, flash, and commercialism were/are paramount to skill, team work, discipline (on and off the court). Stern makes sure his stars, the few select people he chooses to market the game through, get preferential treatment from officials. In a recent ESPN interview Mark Cuban said he contemplated selling the Mavericks after last seasons NBA Finals, he thought about selling not because he was sad the Mavs lost but because he felt the Mavs were cheated, and cheated because of him. Avery has the team galvanized since last June but as long as Stern thinks his life would be better without Cuban, and as long as he refuses to market the game through an affable superstar because he's white and foreign there will be some small doubt in my mind until the Mavs actually hoist the trophy.
  • ABC's and ESPN's coverage of the Mavs/Suns game was horrible. Ridiculous camera angles, the utter refusal to show replays of important/controversial/confusing plays, and the open rooting for Pheonix by commentators.
  • The Mavericks would not have won the game anyways, but the officials gave four points to the Suns. GAVE FOUR POINTS TO THE SUNS. Boris Diaw made a baseline three pointer with 5:11 left in the second period. The problem is that before the pass from Steve Nash reached Diaws hands, a whistle was blown for defensive three seconds on Dallas. Dallas defenders stopped, Diaw caught the ball, shot and made the 3. This isn't football, you can't choose if you want to accept the penalty or the result of the play. The whistle blew and the play should have stopped then and there. Then with 1:19 in the third Barbosa makes his first free throw, misses his second but after a late whistle is allowed another after a horrible lane violation is called on Austin Croshere. On the play, Marion and Stoudemire BOTH cleared out making their way back down the court before Croshere took one step backwards for which he was called for a lane violation. These plays did not ultimately effect the outcome of the game but the show that either the official are corrupt or incompetent; either way there is a huge problem. Moving onto the things that will make me happy.
  • Can't wait for Kevin Willis time!

College roundball crowned a new champion, well...not really

  • This Florida team is really good, and the ultimate team. They feature four starters who should have good NBA's careers, but the sum of their whole was greater than the sum of their parts. The experience these guys gained by winning last year, and then all coming back, playing together for years -- is something that just doesn't happen in college hoops.
  • I was the only bully who had Florida winning it all!
  • After everyone coming back this year, Florida may be left with 5 new starters AND a new coach, interesting to watch.

BASEBALL SEASON!!!!!

  • I'll have a full in depth report on the 07 Rangers very soon.
  • I am not as discouraged as most after opening day in Anaheim. Millwood looked pretty good, Mike Wood was really encouraging, and they knocked the ball all over the field for the first 6 innings. They couldn't get the timely hit, which isn't a fault due to lack of skill just lack of luck. The balls they hit found Angel's gloves, what the Halos hit softly found holes and what they hit hard found holes. They hit the ball off the top of the wall and it bounces over, Rangers hit it hard and it is caught by GMJ. Don't fret, if they play like that all year they will win more than they lose.
  • K-Rod looked really bad, despite working a scoreless ninth for his first save of the season. His mechanics were all out of whack -- even for him. He was off balance, leaning too far to his left, his front side was flying open way to fast forcing his arm to have to play catch up, he had no confidence in his ridiculous slider (but the threat of it still made him effective with only his fastball) his velocity was down (94-96 v 97-99mph) and his location was off (everything was inside to a right handed hitter.) If he doesn't correct it, he'll get hit around and be on the DL very soon.
  • Gil Meche is wearing the number 55, also the dollar amount in millions of the contract he signed this offseason with the Royals. He was very effective in his first start against a very good offensive Red Sox team.
  • Ben Sheets and Felix Hernandez dominated, if they stay healthy it won't be the last time I say that this year.
  • Alex Gordon made is first major league plate appearance with the bases loaded and Curt Schilling on the mound. Despite the standing ovation he received as he walked up to the plate, he dug in against the future hall of famer and took a fastball on the inside half for strike one. He would then foul off several good pitches from Schill and take a couple nice splitters for balls. He made an out, but he wasn't overwhelmed by the stage, he was focused. This kid has it all, he's going to be a great one. I've never been as impressed by some kid making an out as I was with Gordon.
  • Until Josh Hamilton stepped into the batters box, literally seconds after Gordon. Hamilton was once as heralded a prospect as Gordon, but off field issues including substance abuse problems had forced him out of the game from 2003-2005. Despite only playing in a few games in the low levels of the minor leagues the Reds took Hamilton in the Rule 5 draft and will use him as their fourth outfielder. Hamilton lined out to left field but his teammates didn't seem to notice as they all congratulated him when he returned to the dugout. It was the only the second time I've seen 40,000 people give a standing ovation to a guy whose never played in the bigs before.

Poker

Over the weekend I played in a satellite tournament for the World Series Main Event. The tourney was for frequent players at a major online card room, that we'll call PokerS...No, wait! That's too obvious. How about PStars? It started with everyone recieving 1500 in chips and blinds only at 10/20 with 15 minute levels which provided a lot of play for an online tournament with 1200+ players. Only the top 10 advanced.

With about 200 players left I was sitting on a stack of about 25,000 with blinds in their last minute of the level, 400/800 with a 50 ante. I was in the BB at my table, which was now 8 handed, and picked up Qd-Jh.

It's folded around to the cut off, with about 28,000 in chips, who makes a standard raise, 2,400. The button folds and the small blind, 38k, just calls. My action.

I elect to move all-in here. My thought process:

  1. The cut off had been playing pretty aggressively, and raising in an unopened pot from that position made it all the more likely that he would not have a hand capable of calling off nearly all of his chips.
  2. The small blind called. He had been playing pretty straightforwardly in the couple hours we had been at the same table. His call told me that he had a marginal hand, he would have raised with a very strong hand, and he wouldn't call a large re-raise.
  3. I had been playing with both of these guys for the majority of the tournament, and during that time I had been playing pretty tight. I had been lucky enough to pick up a few hands in key spots and the only ones I had shown down here very strong hands.
  4. I hadn't made a big reraise in a while, and when I did I showed Aces.
  5. My stack was such that I felt like I needed to make a move, and was willing to gamble. With the payoff scale so top heavy, I felt it was worth making a few moves in order to try and get a mega stack.
  6. My opponents stacks were such that they were fairly comfortable where they were. They both had me covered, but not by much and they would in essence be risking their tournament lives to call me.
  7. The blinds were about to go up. Making it 2400 a round, meaning my stack would be shrinking soon. And any future moves I might make would more more likely to be called, a situation as potentially profitable as this one, more than likely, would not come up again.
  8. I had QJ, which while certainly not a great hand is really only dominated by six hands, and even if the cut off had something like two 10's or AK and called, I felt fine racing at that point in the tourney. This was also a key reason that I moved all in. If my hand was something really horrible, 9-4 off, I may have raised anyway because the situation was ripe for the picking but I doubt I would have pushed everything in. I would have wanted to save some ammo in case one of my opponents came over the top of me, I could muck. But with QJ I would be getting over 2-1 on my all in call if I bet a third of my stack and got pushed back, which would have made folding difficult.

I yell, "Hiedi Ho!" and push my chips into the virtual pot. The cut off thinks for a mintue then calls shows Ad-Kd, small blind gets out of the way. He Hellmuths as the flop comes Queen high and I win a big pot after he can't catch up on the turn or river. His ranting got me thinking about the hand and after analizing my play (which is the #1 reason it is bad to impugn your opponents play. They will think about their play and if it is bad they will correct it, not make the same mistake and cost you $$) I do still think it was correct for the reasons I listed above, which were in my head at the time I made the play. While I was thinking about position, past hands, stack size and future blind levels he was only thinking about his cards, then he cried when he lost a pot he was going to lose 40% of the time. I wound up finishing in 38th place, shy of the pay out on a hand that I will reveal in a future article. If you have any comments or counter arguments on how I played this hand please leave your comments below. I really think that the way to get better is to analyize.

2007 NFL Mock Draft

Hey y'all its Brian with a mock draft. I didn't include any trades but many are sure to happen. I did make mention of a few trades in my comments. Enjoy....DRAFT!!!!

After his stock took a huge hit early in the off-season, he has vaulted back up to the top 5 with a very impressive pro-day. The Browns could really use a franchise QB and Quinn would have some great weapons in Braylon Edwards and Kellen “I'm a fucking soldier” Winslow II.

There are also rumors that the Redskins are looking to trade up into the #2 pick to acquire Calvin Johnson, while I love Johnson I hope this rumor is false. Other possibilities if the Redskins keep this pick are Jamaal Anderson and Laron Landry.

7. Minnesota Vikings- S Laron Landry (LSU) 6-2 205
This is a tough one as the Vikings are in need of a pass rush but have spent a first round pick on Udeze. Many mocks have them taking Jamaal Anderson with this pick but I just can’t see them spending another first rounder on the d-line this year. Landry has vaulted up draft boards after running a scorching 4.35 40-yard dash. He has all the tools you want in a safety and will be a pro-bowler for many years to come.

8. Atlanta Falcons- MLB Patrick Willis (Old Miss) 6-2 240
I think the Falcons want S Laron Landry but barring a trade he might not fall to #8. Patrick Willis may not fill the Falcons biggest need but he’s an amazing prospect and after running a blazing 4.37 40-yard dash he is far and away the best linebacker in the draft. Defensive line could also be the pick here.

11. San Francisco 49ers- DE Jamaal Anderson (Arkansas) 6-6 280
The 49ers have addressed a lot of their needs in free agency but they still could use some help on the defensive line. Anderson can rush the passer and is also strong against the run. He may go much earlier then this.

Olson’s has great speed for a tight end and good hands.

18. Cincinnati Bengles- LB Lawrence Timmons (Florida St.) 6-3 230
The Cincinnati Bengles like to draft young linebackers who end up suspended by the league for various reasons so they need to draft another one who can hopefully stay out of jail for a few seasons. This is a tall task for any Bengles player but Timmons does have talent and would be a good pickup here.

20. NY Giants- LB Paul Posluszny (Penn State) 6-3 238
I was going to have the Cowboys take this slow linebacker with their pick but then I remembered that Parcells is no longer there. All jokes aside I think this is a good pick for the Giants. Posluszny is an old school linebacker whose stock has dropped in recent months.

What? Tampa Signed BJ Askew...SWEET!

Ok this post is the first of KC's solo work to appear on the site. Anywho here is a recap and commentary on Free Agency thus far...

Adalius Thomas(LB)- Patriots: Probably the best player available in free agency and a great pick up for the "Yankees of Football" will boost the Patriots linebacking core considerably and it was needed after last years group of players.
Nate Clements (CB)- 49ers: 8 years 80 million dollars is a whole lotta money for a slightly above average player. Clements is now makin Champ Bailey money without having Champ Bailey talent, and thats definitely good for him; bad for 49er fans, but honestly who really cares about them anyways
Patrick Kerney(DE)- Seahawks: coming an injury plagued year should bounce back and return to form. NEXT
Daniel Graham(TE)-Broncos: Now, the Broncos have gone Dan Snyder on Free Agency and i have to say this YOU CANT BUY A CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM IN FREE AGENCY!!!! just ask ole Dan... In the the theory on Graham was that he was overshadowed in the Patriots two TE set.. personally i feel he was overshadowed for a reason.
Leonard Davis(OG)- Cowboys: Its hard to tell whether his play in Arizona was because of him suckin ass or Arizona's line in general suckin ass.. what I do know is that its hard to say a guy that big cant do well at any position on the O-line.
Ahman Green(RB)-Texans: "We're excited to get this deal done because Ahman's been a successful running back in this league for a long time," Texans general manager Rick Smith said."We're going to hitch our wagon to him.... until week 6 when every muscle in his legs will tear at which point we'll have to take him out to the pasture and shoot him."
Drew Bennett(WR)-Rams: here is what Len Pasquarelli had to say about Bennett"...Long, angular guy with deceptive deep speed and motivation to prove he's healthy again. " Deceptive speed( i.e. white guy) though to be serious i do think that the Rams made a good desicion by signing Bennett he can be a solid reciever again.
Jeff Garcia(QB)-Bucs: I have to say bringing in Garcia to start a QB is a great descion for the... what?... if he's not starting then who is?... what?CHRIS SIMMS!!what idiot thought that was a good idea?.. seriously? ok.. continuing Chris Simms will be benched sometime this season look here I'm calling it now, as a Longhorn fan I've experienced my fair share of Chris Simms and you might get lucky from time to time with him in there, but eventually he's gonna leave ya in pile on the floor cryin wish for someone anyone else and thats all there is to it.. start Garcia and save yourself some trouble

Dominic Rhodes(RB)-Raiders: This could be a good pickup I mean look at how well it worked out the last time the Raiders signed a career backup running back. 434 yards 2 TDs and a medial collateral ligament injury, but hey great sign I'm sure he'll carry the load for the season it wasn't like he backed up a rookie all season or anything.

Randy McMicheal(TE)-Rams: Or as I like to call him "the man who killed my fantasy team". For this I REALLY hate him and I'm not gonna say anything further about him

Joe Horn(WR)-Falcons: "I came here to lead by example." is what Horn told Atlanta media on Thursday "Jenkins and White need to learn that $30,000 and a cellphone under the goalpost is all it takes to become a household name"

Jamal Lewis(RB)-Browns: "We are pleased to add Jamal Lewis to our team," Browns general manager Phil Savage said in a statement. "He was a proven NFL back three years ago and will be helpful in obtaining the #1 overall pick in the 2008 draft."

Derrick Dockery(OG)-Bills: One word- NEXT!

London Fletcher-Baker(LB)-Redskins: An older man with diminishing skills but can contribute a little bit and can at the very least be a leader on this team. Now with that said I have one question to ask: Does Dan Snyder realize there is a salary cap in the NFL? was he just sick that day when the owners discussed having it? or did the rest of the owners not tell him as some sort of practical joke? these are all serious questions I feel I need answers. I mean the Redskins had 4 million in cap space when the season ended and have since signed (or resigned) Fletcher-Baker, Fred Smoot, Vernon Fox, and Ade Jimoh this blows my mind the way I had it figured out the Redskins would find it hard to field a team but here they are buyin up free agents again.

Joey Porter(LB)-Dolphins: Odds Joey Porter will help Miami's already stout defense: 2 to 1 Odds he'll go on a rampage screaming homophobic slurs at the South Beach Public: 1 to 1

*BONUS FEATURES*
ok so now its time to talk about some of the trades that have happened so far this offseason.
Dre Bly to Broncos for Tatum Bell and George Foster: Since the Broncos can stick your mom at running back and she'd rush for over a 1000 yards it essentially giving up nothing and getting a great cover corner to line across from Champ Bailey
Reuben Droughns to Giants for Tim Carter: Here is proof that the Broncos can put anyone in at RB what has he done before or after he was with the Broncos.. Nothing.. I'm thoroughly convinced the Broncos should trade away their RB every single year then draft some no name kid in the 6th or 7th round and let him rush for a 1000 yards and start over.
Willis McGahee to Ravens for Draft picks: If McGahee can stay healthy he could have a long career of being under utilized by Brain Billick

Final Four and Championship!!!!!

Just got back from Vegas and man, that is a crazy town. I feel for Pac-Man Jones. Don't know if y'all heard about it or not but I got myself into a similar predicament. The headline read, "Sports Authority from Dallas makes it rain pennies, kills a stripper."

So it will be a little different today. We will have a panel of sorts for this one. The other sports bullies from the DFW chapter of SENSA (the Sports IQ society, know world-wide) are joining in for this. (We even have a member of the Washingtonian chapter weighing in.)

KC: Florida over UCLA because Ben Howland's gay and Florida beat them last year they'll do it again. Georgetown over Ohio State because I utterly hate all things Ohio State.
JJ: And your Champion?
KC: Georgetown. No reason other than I don't think Florida is good enough to win it twice.
JJ: Hard hitting facts from KC.

Trevor: I have G-Town over Florida. It's the year of the Cinderella. I mean Ireland over Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup. Those damn Micks.
Lincoln: Wow, and I thought Pakistan was a peaceful place.

JJ: It's G-Town over UCLA. Mark it. You have John Thompson III, Patrick Ewing Jr., and Jeff Green the solo. It's like a Christmas carol, and the number one rule in all of sports is you don't bet against Christmas.
Krevor: Yeah that and don't bet the over on the Yankees.

Lincoln: Well Krev, are you picking G-Town?
Krevor: Yeah I guess I will. I didn't pick them in the pool but I'll do it now. I live like two minutes from campus. I originally chose Ohio State 'cause I love big men, but I am caught in Georgetown fever and I love the Thompson men more. And I got Florida over UCLA. Love Noah, he is biblically good.
Lincoln: Georgetown has the doctor, so you can still love big men and make the homer pick.

Lincoln: Most of my bracket is shot, thanks alot Albany, but I still have my original final match-up in play. Florida over Georgetown.
JJ: Little surprised no one is picking Ohio State, I mean just look at that graph that popped up when I Google imaged "Ohio State" looking for a funny picture.
Lincoln: While I love wind force velocity graphic data as much as anyone, I think that the Hoyas are too deep, talented, and well coached for the Acorns. But even that won't matter in the finals because after the Gators get past a guard heavy UCLA team they will still be able to defeat the front court loaded G-Town boys. They are the most talented, most balanced, most experienced team in college basketball since the Grant Hill/Laettner Duke teams of the early 90's...also the last team to go back to back.

Krevor: Florida doesn't deserve another championship, they already have 2 in one year. Give some love to another school, like Tulane. Why can't we get one? We got destroyed by a hurricane.
Lincoln: There's always women's tennis.

Well there you have it folks. The sports bullies consensus is Georgetown. But it could be Florida, or maybe UCLA, or even Ohio State.

How To Make $9,288.01

Back by popular demand is our How To series where we tell how to do things. Our first edition was directed to Jerry Jones, How To Fix the Cowboys, but this article is for everyone. It has come to my attention that there are places in the United States and on the web where people can wager money on the outcomes of sporting events, shock! Keeping in mind that we do not condone sports betting, unless you're in a place where it is legal and in that case have at it! With that in mind, here for you're entertainment purposes only...

HOW TO MAKE $9288.01

Bodog released their baseball futures board recently where people can bet on who will be the World Series Champs, Division Champs but here I'm taking a closer look at how many games each team will win. I think their over/under for some teams are good, but here are 20 picks that if you follow WILL WIN. Going down the board alphabetically...

Arizona Diamondbacks: o/u 79 wins -- TAKE THE OVER One of the two or three easiest picks, Bodog may be off by 10 wins in this projection. The snakes should be the front-runners to win the NL West this year with a lineup full of young studs and the most underrated rotation in baseball. Maybe the youth makes Bodog think people will either be too ignorant or too scared to bet on Zona (30/1 to win it all, 14/1 to win the NL, and their the 4th pick win the NL West 4/1) but Steven Drew, Connor Jackson, Carlos Quinton, and Chris B Young are all under 25 and all ready to contribute in a big way this year. Brandon Webb, Doug Davis, and Livan Hernandez for a solid, if unspectacular, front 3 then sprinkle in even half a year of Randy Johnson and the rotation becomes even more deadly, especially to pigeions.

Boston Red Sox: o/u 91 wins -- TAKE THE OVER The Sox are one of the deepest and most talented teams in baseball. True they have to play the Yanks and Blue Jays 28 times a year, but they also get to play the D-Rays and O's that much. Manny, Papi and the addition of JD Drew gives the Sox the most potent middle of the order in the League, and add in The Greek God of Walks at the top of the lineup and that could be 4 guys with .400 OBP's. Moving Papelbon back to the closers role is good enough for a couple wins right there, and he'll have plenty of save oppurtunities with Dice-K, Schill, Beckett and Wakefield in the rotation. You can add Jon Lester, Julian Tavarez, Kyle Snider, or me at the 5th spot and still have a championship level starting 5.

Chicago White Sox: o/u 87.5 -- TAKE THE UNDER In a stacked AL Central someone has to lose. Chicago will finish under .500 and Ozzie will be out of a job after this disappointing year. The ChiSox have huge holes LF and CF, as Podsednik and Erstad both figure to be below replacement level this year. Thome, Konerko and Dye are all on the downside of their careers, not that anyone will be getting on base in front of them in the line up. The rotation has been the strength of this team in recent years, but that strength was built more on quantity than quality trading away Garcia and McCarthy will hurt. Bobby Jenks is fine until he get the shakes and, even though BoDog doesn't offer this bet, he still is 1/10 to be the most John Daily-esque player in MLB

Cincinnati Reds: o/u 77 -- TAKE THE UNDER The Big Red Machine will struggle to reach the 70 win platue this year. Edwin Encarnacion, former Ranger great, has a ton of upside and Adam Dunn may have the most raw power in the game and Homer Bailey is one of the two or three best pitching prospects in baseball, but beyond that there is very little to like about this seasons vintage of the Red Legs. Griff is on his last legs, and beyond Harang and Arroyo the rotation is really bad.

Cleveland Indians: o/u 85.5 -- TAKE THE OVER The Tribe should be a 90 win team. Cle is a bit weak offensively on the corners but Sizemore (the franchise's best CF since Willie Mays Hayes), Victor Martinez and Kronk more than make up for it. Bartfield, Peralta, and Marte give the Indians a young, talented infield with a ton of potential. Sabathia and Westbrook are a very good 1-2 combo. The bullpen was a weakness last year, but Borowski and Roberto Hernandez lend some veteran stability to a young talented corpse that includes Fernando Cabrera and Fausto Carmona (who may spend some time in the rotation this year).

Colorado Rockies: o/u 76 -- TAKE THE OVER The Mountains should be a .500 team with Atkins, Holliday, Helton and Hawpe knocking the humidor stored balls all over Coors. Troy Tulowitzki and Chris Iannetta give Colorado a SS and Catcher combo with as much upside as any in baseball. The steady Aaron Cook and Rodrigo Lopez team with homegrown Jeff Francis and recently aquired giant Jason Hirsh for a solid rotation. Brian Fuentes may be the best closer in baseball no one knows about.

Detroit Tigers: o/u 88.5 -- TAKE THE UNDER El Tigres were the suprise team in baseball last year but we should expect some regression to the mean this year. Their 2 thru 6 hitters, Polanco, Pudge, Sheff, Maggs, and Guillen, are all injury risks. They get very little production from 1B and LF and don't have one single high OBP guy in their everyday lineup. Kenny Rogers and Todd Jones will still be counted on for big roles despite being their 40's. However, they still have a stable of young arms. Jeremy Bonderman is my darkhorse for Cy Young this year, but I really don't think Verlander and Nate Robertson will match their performances of a year ago. Both guys periferial numbers suggest their ERA's should progress to the mean. Zumaya is appointment viewing anytime he's on the mound, but if Jimmy Leland doesn't give the closer role over to him soon the team will suffer.

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in Orange County California an hour and half north of San Diego: o/u 90 -- TAKE THE UNDER I have written about the Angels previously in my Hope and Faith article. They are too weak offensively, and have big injury risks on the pitching staff. Any team that counts on major production from Shea Hillenbrand, Casey Kotchman, Chone Figgins, and Gary Matthews Jr can't win 90 games without Kofax, Clemens, Pedro, Maddux, and Walter Johnson in the rotation. The Halos have a good staff, but not that good. Better bet -- Wins (+8.5) v Number of Letters in that Name.

Los Angeles Dodgers: o/u 88.5 -- TAKE THE UNDER Bodog is, again, too optimistic on a LA team here with good arms and no bats. Nomar, Jeff Kent and Luis Gonzalez make a terrific 3-4-5 of the order... in the year 2000. The Dodgers do have good pitching Schmidt, Lowe, and Penny are a real nice top of the rotation and Jonathon Broxton will take over the closer role proir to the All-Star break, but that offense is just too bad. Wilson Betemit and Raffy Furcal form a very good right side of the infield, and Russ Martin is a very nice catcher (when he's not hosting his radio show) but the Dodgers get very little from everywhere else on the field. But hey, the just traded for Brady Clark!!! I'm sure Matt Kemp loves that deal.

Milwaukee Brewers: o/u 81.5 -- TAKE THE OVER Team that reminds me alot of the Diamondbacks, lots of young guys ready to step up. Rickie Weeks, Bill Hall, Prince Fielder, JJ Hardy can all rake. If Ben Sheets is healthy (which, granted, he rarely is) the rotation looks nice. Chris Capuano, Jeff Suppan, Dave Bush, and Cladio Vargas aren't the sexiest names but their all decent to above average pitchers. Coco and Turnbow really bring the heat at the end of the ballgame, and always keep it close. This is a team to really watch out for this year, and for the next 5 with guys like Yovani Gallardo and Ryan Braun in the pipeline.

Minnesota Twins: o/u 84.5 -- TAKE THE OVER Mauer, Morneau and Santana are worth 80 wins by themselves. Throw in Joe Nathan for an easy 5 extra and the Twins cover this number. Random Rant: Has there EVER been a better trade than Pierzynski for Joe Nathan, Boof Bonser, and Liriano? The Giants got tired of AJ after one year!!! While Minnesota will reap the benefits of this trade for at least the next 5. AND the trade was made so the Twins could make room for Joe Mauer! The trade really is a crappy catcher for the best catcher in baseball, the best closer in baseball, the best pitching prospect in baseball, and a good pitching prospect.

New York Mets: o/u 89.5 -- TAKE THE UNDER Pedro is the youngest of their top three starters. I'm going to repeat that, because it bears repeating. Pedro Martinez is the youngest of their top three starters. Pedro's "birth certificate" may only say that he's 35 but his arm's equivolent age would be somewhere in the Keith Richards neighboorhood. 41 year old Tom Glavie and 53 year old Orlando Hernandez will be counted on for 30-35 starts each, at least they can look to Julio Franco for veteran leadership. How is a team with Jose Reyes and David Wright so old??? Shawn Green, Delgado, Jose Valentin, Moises Alou, Julio Franco, Paul LoDuca, Chan Ho Park, Pedro, Glavin, El Duke, and Billy Wagner's average age is dead.

New York Yankees: o/u 97 -- TAKE THE UNDER The Yankees will be good, but 97 wins is great, and I don't think these Yanks are truely great. Offensively the Bronx Bombers should expect years from Jeter, Cano and Posada worse than last year. Doug Mientkiewicz shouldn't be a big league player they would be better moving Matsui to first and starting Melky, but it doesn't appear as if that will happen. Carl Pavano could be their opening day starter, that says alot right there. Pettitte is really on the downside, I love Moose but he's 38, Igawa is an unknown commodity ( I think he'll be decent though), that leaves you with an Ace who's got a K rate of just 3 per 9. Wang, also currently hurt, is an extreme ground ball pitcher but the Yankees aren't very good defensively in the infield. Rivera will spend some time on the DL and when he does you're counting on Kyle Farnsworth and Ron Villone?

Oakland Athletics: o/u 84.5 -- TAKE THE UNDER Nick Swisher may be the only guy in the starting line up for the A's this year who isn't a lock to miss a month at some point this year. If everyone stays healthy, and productive the A's could surpass the 84.5 win mark, but the odds of that happening aren't good. Beyond Swisher and Chavez, even when healthy the lineup is pretty weak. Their bullpen is good, but may become over worked especailly if/when Harden/Haren miss big chunks of time.

Pittsburg Pirates: o/u 72 -- TAKE THE OVER That's right Pirate fans, you won't lose 90 games this year! Only 85!! Pitt is really a solid team. Freddy Sanchez, Jason Bay, and Adam LaRoche are a nice 3-4-5 in the order. Chris Duffy, Xavier Nady, and Ronnie Paulino are nice players. The thing that most people don't know about the Pirates is that they have a bunch of young arms that should produce some for this year; Zach Duke, Ian Snell, Paul Maholm, and Tom Gorzelanny.

Seattle Mariners: o/u 78.5 -- TAKE THE UNDER Jose Vidro is going to DH. That really should tell you all you need to know. Jose Guillen is going to start in RF, Jose Lopez at 2B. Beyond King Felix the M's have a bunch of 4 and 5 starters. This is not a good team.

St. Louis Cardinals: o/u 85 -- TAKE THE UNDER I hate picking against any team that has Albert Pujols and Chris Carpenter, but that is all the Cards have. Rolen still can play, but can't be counted on for the same kind of year he had last year, Edmonds is in a sharp decline, Juan Encarnacion has never been a very good player, Molina is really bad offensively. Eckstien and Kennedy up the middle and at the top of the order mean that Pujols will rarely have anyone on base when he comes up. He should break Bond's IBB record this year. Wainwright is good, and Reyes has a chance to be good, but after that they have Kip Wells in the rotation. They may ask Bradon Looper to start in the 5 spot in the rotation. Looper, 32, has not started a game in his 9 year big league career. Once Izzy goes down, there's not alot in the bullpen. The reigning champs may not have a winning record this year.

Tampa Bay Devil Rays: o/u 67.5 -- TAKE THE OVER That's right. The Over for the D-Rays. All those years of selecting in the top 5 of the draft are finally starting to pay off, Tampa has as much young talent as any team in baseball. Most of it is on the offensive side of the ball, Baldelli, Crawford, Delomn Young, Elijah Dukes, BJ Upton, and Jorge Cantu can all hit and are, almost, all really athletic. The D-Rays would def win the most basketball games of any baseball team...not that that helps then a ton playing baseball. Scott Kazmir would be a Cy Young contender if he was on a better team, James Shields has a lot of upside that people don't talk about, Casey Fossum may have the best left handed curveball in the AL now that Zito is in San Fran. Their bullpen is deep, headed by flamethrowing Seth McClung. Aki Iwamura, the Japanese import, will suprise many at 3B and Dioneer Navarro may have the most upside of any catcher in baseball who's surname doesn't start with an M.

Texas Rangers: o/u 81 -- TAKE THE OVER I covered the Rangers in my Hope and Faith article earlier. Tex, Wilk, and Blalock are primed to have much better years, Gagne + Aki means it's a 7 inning game. Rotation is deep and as talented as it's ever been. Good chance to win the division.

Toronto Blue Jays: o/u 87.5 -- TAKE THE UNDER Every year people talk about how the Blue Jays are going to make a run at the BoSox and Yankees, and every year they wind up 14 games back in third place. Wells and Glaus are big time players, and Overbay is very underrated but the Jays are praying for another TWO big years from the Big Hurt, and will start Reed Johnson everyday who might be the worst regular outfielder in baseball -- assuming Darin Erstad isn't playing everyday. I'm not as high on Alex Rios as some people, I think he'll be good, not great. After you get by Halliday the rotation is pretty bad, especailly if/when AJ Burnett gets hurt. Did I mention that Royce Clayton will be starting at short for this team?

If you bet the max, $600, on all the above wagers you should net $9288.01. Glad I can use my knowledge of the great game to make others happy and richer, in a purely emotional sense.
